”Not having the right products is a challenge for healthcare services trying to prevent drug diversion”

Hello Jeffrey Marton, Sales Manager at Pharmacolog USA Inc! Tell us about your background and experiences why have you chosen this field of occupation?

I am a graduate of Purdue University with a business/marketing bachelor’s degree. I started working as a pharmacy technician at the age of 16 and have developed a love of the healthcare field. I have more than 15 years of clinical pharmacy experience. After graduating from Purdue, I have had experience selling both medical technology and pharmaceuticals. I feel that drug diversion is an important issue plaguing the health care field and it is something I am passionate about.

What are your responsibilities at Pharmacolog?

My current responsibilities at Pharmacolog include growing the U.S. market through demonstrations and presentations. I am working on establishing new customers and maintaining existing ones. I also assist with U.S. marketing and attend trade shows throughout the U.S. to promote Pharmacolog. Currently, I am working to establish relationships with finance companies to help with funding in the U.S. as well as working with distributors to promote the Druglog system.

One of the challenges healthcare services face when it comes to preventing drug diversion is limited pharmacy and nursing staff which can result in the inability to catch mistakes in a timely manner.

In your view, what challenges do healthcare services face when it comes to preventing drug diversion?

In my opinion one of the challenges healthcare services face when it comes to preventing drug diversion is not having the right products to help with diversion. Another problem is hospitals not having enough money in their budgets to pay for products to help diversion. A third major challenge is limited pharmacy and nursing staff which can result in the inability to catch mistakes in a timely manner.
